I’ve been sharing educational photography related content online since 2011, and although the internet is scattered with a lot fo this knowledge, there is no one place where all of this content can be viewed and easily digested. In an attempt to collect some of this info, I aim to finally curate and update some of these articles and techniques and release it in the form of these PDF Studio Lighting Books.
My hope is that these edited books will form a curriculum of ideas that will be easier for many new followers to my site to understand and digest. So with that structure of learning in mind, take a look below at the books currently available.
Download these books for FREE, but generous donations to support this project are always welcome❤️

The first book in this series 'Understanding light' looks at some of the visual 'triggers' that are in all of us and prompts us to use them in our imagery to our advantage. A simple example of this is lighting our subjects from above, or having catchlights in the subjects eyes. These are visual triggers that our audience subconsciously processes and see as appealing.
Now scale that up so that every aspect of our photograph is triggering the right neurons in our audience and you can start to craft a more appealing image.
So I'll ask you again, do you really know why you prefer one image over another? This first book hopes to unpack some of the reasons why and I hope you can all take something from this and begin to apply these theories into your own images.
We're all stuck indoors right now, so these 5 simple, yet very creative setups seemed like a good fit for many of us struggling to stay creative within the same four walls.
All of these 5 setups can be achieved with one or two lights and none them require any fancy or expensive modifiers. What they do require though, is for you to get creative with a few commonly found household items like white sheets, wine glasses, lampshades and more.
So if you're bored and looking to get creative with shoots from home, prepare to convince the partner, kids or cat to model for you and you'll have everything you need to get started.
This brief 15 page PDF is a training tool that I use with all of my students, both online and offline. Essentially you read the PDF I provide and follow the steps I outline within it. By doing this, it unlocks and highlights some of the key areas for us to work on specific to your training needs. My one-to-one mentoring is not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach where I give you the same advice and tips I give everyone else. My training is specific to you and your goals, and this exercise helps both me and you understand what those goals are.
Plus, whether you decide to take my mentoring further or not, I think you’ll find the exercise just as useful as everybody else before you has. ….and it’s free, so what have you got to lose?
Interested in reading and taking the free exercise? Simply reach out to me using the contact form on my Mentoring Page I’ll send you the free PDF as soon as I can.
