Date: July 25th 2026

Note that everything you see below was captured in-camera.
As you can see from some of the example images above, we’ll get plenty of time to shoot a variety of setups and that will include much of what you see here. There is a huge amount we can do with the water and backgrounds in this setup, as the various colour effects we add behind the model are beautifully reflected in the water below to create a very cool final image. Plus, this all created in-camera too!
But as well as the wider shots like the sitting images above, we’ll also get a chance to photograph the model in the water too. We’ll likely save this for towards the end of the day, though, since that water isn't heated!
As with all my workshops and courses, all students will receive a complete PDF of notes that showcase the covered topics, along with all my lighting setups, diagrams, and behind-the-scenes photos. Plus, all attendees will also receive a pack of my Lightroom Presets specifically designed for the lighting setups covered in this workshop as well.

The workshop is about learning how to capture some very cool water-pool photos with our model on the day. It’s not every day I get access to a huge pool like this, so it offers us the opportunity to capture some truly unique photos that will certainly stand out in anyone's portfolio or feed. Plus, I will be thoroughly explaining every single aspect of the lighting and not just ‘where’ to place the lights, but ‘why’ I place the lights there. This workshop is as much about educating you on lighting as it is about ensuring you all walk away with a ton of really cool shots!
Your experience and knowledge are not an issue either, as I thoroughly explain everything I’m doing on the day, and I’ll be with you the entire time you’re shooting to ensure you get the best possible shots you can. At no point are you left to wander off and shoot by yourself, and I’m there the entire time to answer any questions you may have.
It’s highly likely that I’ll light all these setups with LED lights, but I’d still encourage you to bring a digital camera that has a hot-shoe (where the flash/flash-trigger goes), plus your favourite lenses. For this workshop, I recommend a zoom lens to cover all aspects of both close and wide shots. For example, bringing both a 24-70mm plus an 85mm prime or even a 105mm lens (if you have it- don’t worry if you don’t), and that will comfortably cover everything on the day. You don’t need to bring any lighting gear as we will be using all my gear on the day.
Yes, lunch and snacks will be provided. I’ll likely order some pizza just before we break for lunch, and I’ll ask on the day if anyone has any dietary requirements.
In recent years, I’ve been using Studio 88 in High Wycombe. It’s situated just outside London, making it a convenient space for both those living in London and those outside London to travel to. High Wycombe is only 30 minutes from Marylebone Station, and the studio is a walkable distance from the station or a 5-minute cab ride away.
